Tea & Possibilities Episode 44: First HO!

INTRODUCTION

You can find me on Instagram and Ravelry. We also have a Ravelry group!

Today’s tea is PG Tips as we are out of our beloved Yorkshire Gold! We have a tea recommendation thread on the Ravelry group, if you're looking for something new to try.

The ReKnit KAL launched on 17th March! It will run until 18th May and the rules are:
  • Despite the name - crochet is allowed as well as knitting
  • Starts on 17th March - no WIPs allowed
  • Finishes on 18th May - you don't have to finish to qualify for a prize!
  • You must have knit this pattern at least once before
  • Please go over to the Chatter Thread to share what you're re-knitting/crocheting and why!
WIP'D UP!

I've been fairly monogamous again this week (despite having eight WIPs!)... You can see all of my current WIPs on my Ravelry Project Page.

But here's what I've been working on since the last episode...

Hats for the Homeless #2
Pattern: Smart Hat by Silja Devine
Yarn: Willow & Lark Woodland in 413 Army

This is just handbag knitting, so it's a slow one.

Stranded Affection
Pattern: Color Affection by Veera Välimäki
Yarn: Stranded Dyeworks in Naive Watercolour, First Frost and Piñata

I blitzed through this like crazy and then slowed down when I hit the pink - typical right?!

And I have a new cast on and I'm SO happy about it - I have a HO!!!

Operation Sock Drawer
Pattern: Following the Sock Series by Meanwhile, at the Castle (Part 1: Beginning Your Sock)
Yarn: West Yorkshire Spinners in the Country Birds Blue Tit colourway

KNIT & NATTER

This week we went to the Tower of London - we're really lucky that because we live in the Tower Hamlets borough, we are able to go in for just £1! (If you also live in this area - get an Idea Card for your cut-price access!)

It's a pretty massive saving and means we didn't feel like we needed to block out a whole day for it, so we went and spent a few hours strolling around.

If you like history chat, Crafty Historian offers some history in her podcast and BBC iPlayer is always a good shout for history documentaries (currently they have one about the Plantagenets). I'm also really enjoying the Rex Factor podcast, which is doing an episode per monarch from Alfred the Great to Elizabeth II.

That's all for this week! See you soon for another cuppa :)
