Self Love and Sewing Week

I had some holiday left to use up and an ongoing desire to make some of my own clothes. So I decided to take a week off work, stock up on patterns and fabric and get sewing.

Next week is the week and in the time since booking it off and now, it's become so much more than just a sewing week. I have christened it Self Love and Sewing Week and I am so excited for it!

Here are just a few things that I'm looking forward to.

I've decided to check out some new classes at the gym - my shifts mean I can't get to the gym on work days so it will be fun to try something I don't usually get chance to.

I've stocked up on some Lush Bath Bombs so that I can indulge in a delicious bath every day after my class.

I've dug out a blank notebook so that I can have a go at Morning Pages, as suggested in The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.

I've got enough fabric to make three Bettine dresses, one Dottie Angel and one Coco tunic. So hopefully at least one of them will be good enough to wear outside!

I've got a little pile of books (actual books - not my Kindle for a change!) to start on. I'm going to re-read the delicious Beowulf that Rich bought me for Christmas, make a start on the hardback copy of The Silmarillion (another beautiful edition that Rich bought me - men who buy gorgeous books are keepers) and maybe read a chapter or two of A Fine Balance, if I get time...

I've decided that, this week, apart from the Morning Pages, I'm not going to write anything. I spend so much time struggling against my writer's block that I'm starting to think it's making it worse. This week is devoted to things that don't make me stressed out and unhappy (with the secret hope that the resulting mellow mood will give me some insight into just what's gone wrong in my writing lately).

I'm planning on sharing a daily insight into my Self Love and Sewing Week, so I'll see you Monday for Day 1!
